Learning -Irish-Walks Ionad Foghlama Chléire offer a new product in the 2011 season: Learning-Irish-Walks on Cape Clear Island. You will explore our beautiful scenery and our archaeological heritage, ranging in age from neolithic standing stones to a 'millenium' wall. Along with this you will hear about the human and social input that created these; the meaning that is hidden in our placenames and anecdotes; the social history since the famine, the reasons for the decline of Irish here and the yet beautiful linguistic heritage permeating it. |
Bring home a living souvenier Hear recordings of local Irish poetry and speech and learn some Irish. Record yourself speaking Irish in the Cape Clear dialect with professional help and take it home or download it at home as an audio file. You will enjoy our ancient paths along the southern cliffs & accoss the central ridge over the 'cnoicíní' or 'masstrack'. We promise a fulfilling educational experience. It's not a 'tourist version' but an honest up to date picture of a very special place coping with 21st century reality. |

His collection is located in Trá Chiaráin, in a plain prefab next to the chipvan.
